The Lamar

The Lamar is a stunning looking boot in the promotional pictures and videos, but it's actually an even more stunning looking pair of boots in person (see pics). The fit is spot on too. I wear 10D in other brands and the same applies with the Alvie brand. As I've been wearing them they truly have been breaking in so beautifully and are dang comfortable out-the-box too. I cannot say enough great things about the main guys behind the brand, Alvie and Clay. Both have been wonderful to deal with. When I first seen the Alvies brand of boots I was immediately like "Yes, those are perfect looking boots". All the models are complete head turners IMO with the classic J toe and soft shine and have that dress down or dress up look to them all. Like I said, to me, perfect looking boots. I also absolutely get a kick (no pun intended) from reading all the fun and humorous product descriptions! Alvies is my kinda of brand lol Love it. Got my eyes on a pair of those exotics now. I recommend giving Alvies a try if your on the fence, free returns, you can't lose.

These are my first pair of cowboy boots, not counting the Dingos I had as a kindergartener. I have wanted a pair for some time but always found an excuse to not pull the trigger. My friends told me that boots always take a long time to break in and I also find most boots to be either boring or bodacious. Fortunately, the matter was taken out of my hands when I received a pair of Whisky River Lamars as a birthday gift. Upon opening then, I was really pleased with their understated style. The leather is so soft and I love the rich brown color. My wife also commented on the high quality of the leather and craftsmanship, saying how they eclipse her boots. I wore them to work but brought my normal shoes in case they started hurting because I spend most of the day on my feet. I was amazed how comfortable they were and my old shoes never left my bag. I also received so many compliments that I lost track. Since I do not have a lot of experience with other boots, I liken the feeling to a sixteen-year-old driving a Maserati. I couldn’t be happier with them and have no doubt that I will be enjoying them for years to come! Sizing reference, I wear an 11 athletic shoe but a 10 ½ dress shoe so I went for the 10 ½ Lamar.
